British Institute of Interior Design Summer Party

Last night saw the Institutes’s Summer party herald the dawning of a new age as its status was officially celebrated.  The interior design world was out in full with nearly three hundred guests mingling at The Saatchi Gallery to strains of live jazz. The Merit Award was presented to Mary Fox Linton by Alan Rickman for her outstanding contribution to the the interior design profession.

Roses are red

Industry Publicity’s passion for horticulture sees no sign of abating and culminated in a day trip to Regent’s Park’s Rose Garden.  Acres of scented roses filled the air, a magical garden pruned to an inch of its life.

e15 launched new products in Milan, extended the Award winning Houdini range to include a barstool and also launched the Eugene armchair; a new compact sofa with curves and a range of the simplest rugs seen all week – plain strong coloured tufted carpet with contrasting fringing.

There are few designers as compelling as Naoto Fukasawa, his work for Maruni, Thonet and Magis to name but a few, saw him quietly excel throughout Milan.  Clearly the most in demand designer for interviews.

Maruni in Milan

Hiroshima based Maruni displayed a small but perfectly formed stand as part of the Japanese Pavilion at the fairground.  Naoto Fukasawa’s extended range for Maruni was launched to much excitement.
