Sweet Child ‘O Mine
If you are thinking of bringing the family down to this years 100% Design Exhibition and are worried about the lack of things on offer for the kids then fear not. There will be plenty of products there that have been specifically designed with children in mind.
Amoung our favourite products is the ingenius idea and design from Ubiquity Design Studio who will be launching their product Knelt. Knelt is a posture stool and desk designed for 3-10 years olds and encourages a neutral posture when sitting. Available in Birch, Oak and American Walnut it is the brainchild of Tim Spencer, a former paediatric nurse who better than anyone understands the importance of posture during the early years of spinal development.
Another seating idea for children is the range of Felt stools by Barnby Designs. They are available with different coloured tops and there is also a matching kids table which can be bought separately.
Katie Bourne Interiors are launching two new wallpaper designs; Cluck A Doodle Farm and Merry Go Circus – high quality wallpaper for childrens bedrooms or playrooms… if only we were 30 years younger!
Argentine brand Miga De Pan specialise in delightful crocheted pouffs, rugs and accessories for adults and children alike.
Other products for the youngsters include the Da-Bloom desk and chair by i-Clue Design; the toy Bubble car from gt2P; Espace Loggia Kids by Matali Crasset; David Mellor’s Childrens Tableware and PaperBoy Wallpaper.
If only half these products were available for grown-ups!

Full Moon
i3 Lab
i3 Lab take their influences from art, literature and science and create emotional designs; one look at their collection of rugs, cushions and interior accessories shows this theme running throughout. The Nocturne by Moon, a full moon-shaped cushion, glows in the dark simulating moonlight and is complemented by the Full Moon Odyssey mattress, for those who dream of sleeping on the moon. The quirky South Korean design laboratory also bring rugs shaped like the shadow cast by a tree and digitally printed animal bedlinens to their stand.

MissPrint
We love our textiles, and are excited to see mother and daughter team MissPrint back at 100% Design. MissPrint’s wallpapers, fabrics and accessories are inspired by nature, mid-century design and Scandinavian style. We are always thrilled to see companies that are conscious of their carbon footprint so the fact that MissPrint products are made by hand in the most environmentally-friendly way possible makes us love them a little bit more.
Recently, living and dining company Nathan Furniture has teamed up with MissPrint to offer its fabrics across Nathan upholstery in a partnership that beautifully captures the trend for 1950s styling.

Paul Kelley
Furniture maker Paul Kelley will launch his new collection exclusively at 100% Design this September. Kelley’s unique ability to combine quality and versatility is exemplified in his new collection, which takes utilitarian pieces and invests them with new materials, vibrant colour, texture and craftsmanship. His Stack storage is made of Douglas Fir and features coloured Polyrey laminate interiors, and his update on the Nest of Tables was inspired by the paintings of Joseph Albers.
For the first chance to see the new collection visit stand E39 at 100% Design, 22-25 September.
Space Innovation
Space Innovation, who specialise in creating digitally printed murals and wallcoverings for retail, commercial and hospitality applications, and their retail site, wallpaperspace.co.uk, will be launching a number of new designs at this years 100% Design. We love their nostalgic kids designs – a favourite of ours is the Vintage Tin Toys wallpaper – and green work ethic – their wallpapers are printed to order, eliminating wastage.
