Pick a Pocket or Two..
June 2, 2010 – Pocket Habitat arrives
A collaboration between Arup and Sky-Garden Greenroofs, Pocket Habitat is a modular vegetation system specifically designed to promote biodiversity on roofs or brownfield sites set aside for future development. Each module is an independent unit containing different textured and coloured recycled substrates and wildflower seed. It is made from recycled fibres to form a unique sculptured yet engineered habitat that is specifically designed to improve vegetation growth and variety. The pockets are then tessalated to form a continuous vegetated surface that adds form and structure to the design as well as providing an ideal biodiverse habitat.
Bo Reudler at Tuttobene Milan
Dutch designer Bo Reudler seems to be nothing short of a genius. He has designed a range of furniture using bamboo frames coated in linseed to create genuine, original and eco furniture. Seeing it is believing it. A huge amount of research and development has gone into this work – he has got to be recognised for this breakthrough soon.
