Muller Van Severen celebrating 10 years

Viaduct celebrates the new season with an exhibition of the work of Muller Van Severen

+ Launch of new furniture by Hay

Viaduct opens this September with a celebration of Muller Van Severen’s furniture and lighting, curating an anniversary exhibition of the Belgian design duo’s decade of defining designs. Viaduct has worked with Muller Van Severen since 2013 and this will be the most comprehensive show of the designers' work in the UK to date, centring around their long-standing partnership with Clerkenwell-based showroom Viaduct. Over forty groundbreaking designs will be on show including the very latest for Hay launching in the autumn.

Hannes Van Severen and Fien Mueller didn’t take the obvious route to furniture design, they both trained as artists. Their light-touch sculptural work defies traditional furniture making and design concepts whilst maintaining a simple functionality that always feels new and exciting. Much of their work is focused around materials - think metal, leather, marble and enamel - combine this with their unique eye for colour and the result is furniture that is instantly identifiable. There is no mistaking the work of Muller Van Severen.

Viaduct introduced Muller Van Severen to an unsuspecting British public back in 2013, having been so impressed by their original collection and have worked together ever since. Muller Van Severen’s fresh ideas have made them a compelling and collectable force in the world of design. According to James Mair, Viaduct’s Founder, “Fien and Hannes have an incomparable sense of what works. You can’t pigeon-hole them, which makes them very exciting to work with.”

Muller Van Severen’s work is seen in a huge range of projects from residential to commercial and hospitality, specified by architects and interior designers globally.

Muller Van Severen process starts with drawings and handcrafted models before prototyping, with many of their own designs fabricated in Belgium. They also work with an illustrious roster of design manufacturers most recently CC Tapis and Hay. They have collaborated with such luminaries as Kvadrat, Hermés, Valerie Traan Gallery, Vogue and AirBnB.

This is the third solo Muller Van Severen exhibition at Viaduct which Industry Publicity has had the pleasure of working on together.
