The Duchess of Sussex opens new Hubb Community Kitchen

Opened by The Duchess of Sussex today, the Hubb Community Kitchen (hubb meaning love in Arabic) has undergone a dramatic transformation; a once well worn kitchen is now state-of-the-art with a contemporary dining areas matching the renovation. The Hubb Community Kitchen project was funded by the success of the cookery book,’Together: Our Community Kitchen’, which showcases over 50 recipes from women whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. With a foreword by HRH The Duchess of Sussex and with all profits going to support this special community kitchen.

Reconstructed under the watchful eye of Ledbury Construction founder Jonathan Robinson, its cooking and eating areas now symbolise a new chapter in the Hubb Community Kitchen story.

According to Ledbury Construction founder Jonathan Robinson "We are very proud to have delivered the design and renovation of the Hubb Community Kitchen. As neighbours of the Al-Manaar community centre we saw firsthand the incredible efforts that were made in the aftermath of the Grenfell tragedy. It has been an honour to create a space for women that is safe, professional and reflects the community’s incredible spirit, giving them a space to cook, eat and gather together."
