The Wax Building is a renovated Victorian warehouse in the heart of Shoreditch. It is the new home home for British interiors with four floors dedicated to four brands including COZMO, TAMART, MINIMALUX AND LIGHTMASS^.
Cozmo, the digital-first, design-led furniture brand, opens its new showroom at The WAX Building and launches exciting new products by Raw Edges, including the Float Sofa, a supersoft modular sofa system with interchangeable jackets, and the Cozy Bed with an interchangeable headboard. Cozmo is committed to enhancing the experience through innovation and design. Cozmo creates furniture that not only meets but anticipates the changing needs and tastes of modern consumers. Cozmo’s approach is inherently user-focused, ensuring every piece is designed with the consumer in mind. Their mantra, "Don’t Replace it, Update it,"
The first floor is the permanent showroom space for TAMART, a new award-winning design brand founded by London based architect Amos Goldreich who honours the work of his modernist, polymath parents with a debut furniture collection. Tamart’s inaugural
collection has been created from an archive of over 10,000 original plans and documents discovered and catalogued by Goldreich. The new, permanent showroom in The Wax Building will be a home and space to continue this journey of expression for their achievements. Tamart debuts with an initial offering of 10 reimagined mid-century wooden furniture products, each piece exemplifying Tamar de Shalit and Arthur Goldreich’s compelling and timeless approach to design: connecting the present with the indelible mark they left on the modernist design scene.
On the second level is an exhibition from MINIMALUX. Known for its simple, enduring products, Minimalux presents new lighting and accessories for 2024, themed and inspired by a period of time spent in a rural studio location. From its foundation over a decade ago the British brand has maintained its creative philosophy through ageless understated forms and solid, lasting materials. A combination of locally sourced industrial production and artisan techniques have become recognised hallmarks of a collection with a distinctly modern take on a heritage of craft and engineering. Minimalux creations could be described as objects with purpose. The primary considerations of materiality and form stem from the background and artistic roots of designer and co-founder, Mark Holmes.
Debuting in the basement is LIGHTMASS^, a new lighting company by Raw-Edges Design Studio. which creates large and weightless sculptural luminous structures from a single material with minimal impact to the environment thanks to an innovative fabrication process. Studio founders Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay have developed LightMass^ as a response to the evolving landscape of lighting technology. With LED systems eliminating the need for traditional shades, lighting fixtures have begun to disappear into walls and ceilings. LightMass^ fills this void with voluminous, gossamer-light pieces that occupy space with their essential, sheer forms.
The graphic identity and visuals for this new venue, throughout the building are created by FIELD-DAY STUDIO, a design bureau renowned for its award-winning art direction, specialising in cultural initiatives and 360-degree commercial branding.
WAX is set to become a platform for connecting and showcasing creative industry talents and events throughout the year.
